The movement of Durham Region to a RED zone has resulted in massive impact to Clubs/Facilities like ours - we are now required to move to a limit of only 10 participants in the ENTIRE dome.
This would limit our users to 1 Coach and 9 players only, per hour. This is not optional, and while other facilities may choose to ignore this requirement, we respect the guidance provided by our Regional Health Authority, and we maintain our steadfast commitment to act in the best interest of our facility clients and our club membership.
Unfortunately, it is not cost effective to operate the facility based on the current requirements, therefore we have made the decision to close the Pickering Soccer Centre for (at a minimum) 2 weeks.
UPDATE: With daily and weekly monitoring of the Covid-19 numbers in the Durham Region and beyond, we have concluded that it is prudent to continue this closure until further notice. We will continue our monitoring with the goal to re-open the facility when it is safe to do so.
The Pickering Soccer Centre is a partnership between the City of Pickering and the Pickering Football Club. The Soccer Centre opened its doors on Saturday November 8, 2014 hosting an Inter-Provincial Cup game between Toronto FC Academy and CS Longueuil.
The Soccer Centre includes an 8,300 square metre FIFA 1 Star full-size soccer pitch (that can be split into quarter fields) under a 9,000 square metre air-supported dome and is attached to a 700 square metre clubhouse with change rooms, meeting rooms and administrative offices for the Pickering Football Club. Our field is available for soccer, futsal, football, softball, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, volleyball, spikeball ... endless possibilities!
The Pickering Soccer Centre and the Pickering Football Club administrative offices are located at 1975 Clements Road in Pickering (south of Bayly, between Brock Road and Church Street).
